A Boho styled wedding with the first snowfall of the season.
It was a chilly morning with possible snow in the forecast as I drove to the Riverside Terrace Venue in Mishawaka, Indiana. The week before, Schnee and I were growing more hopeful for snow on her wedding day and it looked as if our wish might come true. I walked into the venue with hands full to start the wedding day photos. I entered the bride's suite noticing the usual hustle and bustle of getting hair, makeup and last minute decor done before guests arrived. I noticed Schnee's beautiful dress in the corner with a white fur shoulder wrap. Next to her dress was an almost identical dress for her daughter. My smile instantly grew at thought of how cute Laken is going to look in her dress.
The Bride.
Schnee and I worked together at a local news station a few years back. We crossed paths but never really talked about our personal life. I always thought she was a quiet and kind person who worked hard at what she did. We stayed connected through social media as each of us welcomed sweet babies into this world. I was so excited when she reached out to me to photograph her wedding. Even though weddings can be hectic and unpredictable, I knew we both could work well in that environment since we were from the news world where nothing is concrete.
Reception Details.
Keith and Schnee had a beautiful boho style wedding that showcased their love for excellent liquor, scotch and wine selections. Each centerpiece displayed different bottles with touches of orange, white and brown floral arrangements. All hand created by the Maid of Honor, Katherine. Hints of navy blue lined the dinner tables to really bring the whole look together. You can see how much planning and effort went into those small details for their guests to enjoy. Keith and Schnee both told me they wanted their wedding to represent who they are while celebrating with the ones they love.
Their wedding day was full of so many laughs and happy tears. Between the flower man, the fake "First Look" and the continuing game of icing each other with Smirnoffs, there was never a dull moment. It was a blast to capture their special day. Thank you, Keith and Schnee for allowing us to be a part of your day, for adopting us into your group and always willing to have fun.
Schnee and I got our wish. The first snowfall of the season came on the day they said, "I do."
